Just started visiting Hunters. Great little complex with some stunning fish to go for. I go for the carp and there is 3 ponds to pick from. Willows is the runs water, Kestrel and Kingfisher are the specimen waters. Kestrel is quite tricky but have got one out. Kingfisher is weedy but managed 10 on my first go on it which I was chuffed with. There is also Heron which is a course water. All pegs need to be booked on lakebookings aside from on heron. Some pegs it can be a little walk but nothing too major Well stocked Tackle Shop and cafe onsite, not sure of the hours but can be located on the Facebook page if I recall. Showers can be used but not sure of the price. Lastly nothing was too much trouble. I had an issue and needed something from the shop and I never take money or cards but I was given it and paid when I was picked up. Will be back many times going forward

Ponds are so shallow 1-2 foot in places because they are full of silt making them unfishable. Ive seen deeper puddles. Owners just want to take the money and dont seem bothered. Advertised with showers which aren’t available. Don’t waste your time or money. Should be shut down…

We fished hunters lodge yesterday 12/3/24 day ticket, sonarned both carp lakes only to find 2 fish total waste of money and time, 2 portable toilets that were absolutely disgusting, I will be expecting a refund not happy............. To your response we do know about fishing and your lakes are not deep we have sonar readings of .5 to 1 metre max, I have caught more carp and catfish in the last 2 years than what's in all 3 of your lakes combined. Also in the top 3 for biggest catfish so keep your money and put it towards having the toilets cleaned, I'll let people who read this post decide whether they come to your lake or not.

Very disappointed in our session, as the previous review says, with the lake being empty and the frustration of not catching for hours manage to get the sonar out and scan the lake, two fish found. For the temperature quite surprising not to see a bunch or even more. Wondering where the fish have gone to be fair ...

I've not been to hunters lodge as yet but a very nice lady called Barbara sorted my booking out for me so I'm very impressed so far

Absolutely shambolic can't actually believe it's a fishery more like a muddy puddle. Fished here a few times and have done 48hr sessions, Not been funny but seriously needs restocking, either bad timing or really bad for fishing. We spent a full day catching zero fish in the kestrel pond. I also asked fellow fisherman on their experiences and they said the same. Fairly poor quality tbh it has lovely surroundings for camping such a shame could be a lot better.

We have just got back from a two night stay and I can honestly say Rachel and her family were amazing, can't do enough for you, from a warm arrival, jeep rides too and from the Yurt, and a fantastic fry up in the cafe. This really is a beautiful tranquil location with lovely walks around the lakes and near by attractions. Not far from seaside resorts and other great attractions. We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much, Natalie and family. X

Stayed in 1 of the Bell tents for a long weekend and would highly recommend. From the second we arrived we were greeted promptly and assisted to the tent with our belongings by the owner up to the tent in her jeep. She showed us round. Made sure we had everything we needed and allowed us to settle in to our beautiful tent which had a lot of utensils and cooking bits which we weren't expecting. We had 3 double beds which were all super comfy and very clean. The views were amazing and the site was very peaceful. Just the break we wanted. The onsite cafe does amazing breakfast and catered for even our fussy kids. I literally can not fault this place. Barbara the owner was always on hand and so friendly and helpful. Hats off to her. Only a short drive into town if you needed anything. Lovely walks. Spotless amenities. All in all the best camping site I have stayed on. Thank you. We will be back.
